Description

CP90 Double Sided Copy Shapers and Sanders are designed for the production of chair, table and furniture components by accurately copying a template. They are available with either 4, 6 or 8 operating units which may all be utilized for producing the profile, or can be individually selected to work on different points of the workpiece.
The bed of the machine is a monolithic tubular structure with internal strengthening crossbars made of thick welded steel. For increased strength and guaranteed stability and precision in use, it is normalized to relieve stresses.
Operating units may be angled with respect to the feed carriage direction without the need to make any further adjustment to the position of the tool, which retains its relative position to the template at all times.
Deep ribs are provided in the carriage casting to stop distortion when workpiece clamping forces are applied; therefore, the carriage is always perfectly straight, which allows very long or overlapped profiles to be produced accurately and without problems.
The carriage slides by means of anti-friction pads, which are 2000 mm long in total, and rest on prismatic slides made of hardened and ground steel. Efficient slide design and even weight distribution minimizes friction and eliminates wear.
The inherent strength of the bed-carriage operating unit assembly, together with an advanced tool holder support design, allow the machine to utilize the maximum power output of 18 HP for each shaping unit and give the user the best results in terms of quality and output.
A twin pump hydraulic system supplies the correct oil flow rate at all times without wasting power. Using this arrangement, the CP90 is capable of providing a very slow vibration free carriage feed and also a very high maximum working speed of 18 metres per minute with an average return time of less than 2 seconds. Automatic carriage
speed adjustment is achieved by the use of two independent regulators (one for maximum and one for minimum speed) ensuring fast and easy control. When automatic slowdown regulators are in operation, they provide the operator with the facility to control the carriage speed or stop it altogether.
The pneumatic system is designed so that each operating unit can be individually selected for use by simply turning a selector switch to on or off. Using this system, the utilized carriage travel length is automatically adjusted accordingly.
All machines comply with International Working and Safety Standards and include a number of electrical safety devices, extractor hoods which are fitted around and under the operating unit tools. The new tool holder supports are designed to reduce noise. The use of keys is almost completely eliminated and the machine is designed according to an advanced ergonomic criteria.
On request, an electronic programming unit can be mounted on the CP90 to control each operating unit, eliminating the need to use dual level templates (Balestrini patent); the device also controls the utilized carriage travel length and feed speeds.
