Cranab aquires majority holding in Vimek

Forestry technology company Cranab in Vindeln, Sweden, acquires the majority of shares in Vimek, who manufacture light forest machinery and are based in Slipstensjön.
Vimek has its origins from the early 1900's and has been successful in developing and marketing lighter machines for forestry work, primarily in Sweden, but has also succeded in exporting them to the Czech republic and Poland.
Vimek will continue to be an independant company and the previous owners, brothers Nils-Erik and Lars-Gunnar Nilsson, will continue as minority owners and retain their operative assignments in the company.
Fredrik Jonsson will take over as MD for Vimek, Hans Eliasson will continue as Chairman of the board for both companies. Fredrik Lundberg, who was previously responsible for marketing and personnel at Vimek, is appointed as operative manager.
Vimek is estimated to have a turnover of around 50 M SEK and an output of more than 70 machines under the current year.
Cranab is estimated to have a turnover of more than 400 M SEK, divided between Cranes, Grapples and Bush-cutting machinery.
