The Russian forest machine market is constantly growing. Komatsu Ltd has decided to strengthen Komatsu Forest presence in Russian market by establishing Branch of Komatsu CIS in St.Petersburg.
The center for Valmet forest machines supports customers and dealers in the Russian territory. Twenty employees conduct marketing, after sales support and warehousing activities in St. Petersburg. There are more than 50 people supporting Valmet forest machine customers in Russia today through established company and dealer network. The company especially strengthened after-sales operations, such as service, training and spare parts activities, but also marketing. One of the main ideas is to shorten the lead times. During the first stage, the size of the investment for spare parts inventory, office and service is €2,0 million and it will grow according to sales volumes.
For spare parts warehousing activities Komatsu Forest has appointed as a logistic partner the company Ahlers Logistic Center which has long experience in Russia. The contract includes import, custom brokerage, warehousing, order processing and distribution.
